Are HSAs subject to COBRA continuation coverage under section 4980B?
A:
No. HSAs are not subject to COBRA continuation coverage. The HDHP is subject to COBRA, and you do not lose your HSA upon termination of employment. You may continue to make contributions to your HSA as long as you are covered by the HDHP under COBRA and meet all of the other qualifications. The employer will not contribute to your HSA while you are under COBRA.

no, but they can enroll in the plan and self contribute
